The Cincinnati Bengals are currently gearing up for their Week 3 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road. The Bengals sit at 2-0 on the season so far after recently defeating the Houston Texans on the road in comfortable fashion.
The hero of that game was wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, who hauled in two touchdown catches, including an early Catch of the Year candidate in the first half, to help deliver his team the win.
Still, Texans insider DJ Bien-Aime had to hit back at those comparing the play to Odell Beckham Jr.'s famous 2014 catch against the Dallas Cowboys.
“No, not even close. If you've played wide receiver at any point in your life… you know for a fact that what Odell did is nuts. What Ja'Marr did was incredible. There's a reason why we haven't seen Odell's catch since,” he said, per Sean W. Alcide on X, formerly Twitter.
Indeed, Beckham Jr.'s wild catch against the Cowboys at MetLife Stadium 12 years ago is still widely viewed as the greatest catch in NFL history, instantly turning the then-young star into an icon around the league.
Still, that doesn't take anything away from Chase, who is viewed by many as the best receiver in the game today, and has gotten off to a hot start to the new season.
The Bengals have started out 2-0 for a second straight year, and they will hope that this time around, the vibes don't dissipate quickly, as they did at this time a season ago.
Their game against the Steelers is slated to kick off on Sunday at 1:00 pm ET from Pittsburgh.
