Team Spirit ride 2 victories into PARI Universe's lower-bracket final

Team Spirit earned a pair of 2-1 wins on Friday and advanced to the lower-bracket final of the PARI Universe event.

After rallying past PARIVISION, Team Spirit ousted Team Liquid to become one of the last three teams in the tournament.

Team Yandex and GamerLegion will square off in the upper-bracket final on Saturday, with the loser moving on to oppose Team Spirit later in the day.

The $250,000, 10-team Dota 2 event began with a round-robin group stage, with all matches best-of-three. The top four teams in each group qualified for the double-elimination playoffs, with the last-place team in each group eliminated.

The playoffs consist of best-of-three matches until the best-of-five grand final on Sunday. The championship team will receive $45,000 for the club, $80,000 for the players.

On Friday, PARIVISION opened with a 44-minute victory on Radiant before Team Spirit came back to claim two wins on Dire, in 38 and 49 minutes.

Ukraine's Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk powered Team Spirit with a 30-10-27 kill-death-assist ratio. Russia's Alan "Satanic" Gallyamov logged a 24-18-19 K-D-A ratio for PARIVISION.

Team Spirit started its next match with a 45-minute win on Radiant, but Team Liquid equalized in 47 minutes on Dire. Team Spirit sealed the series in 37 minutes on Radiant.

Russia's Denis "Larl" Sigitov paced Team Spirit with a 35-10-41 K-D-A ratio, while Bolivia's Adrian "Wisper" Dobles wound up at 17-22-28.

Team Liquid swept their first match of the day 2-0 over OG behind a 30-6-30 K-D-A ratio from Russia's Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak. Finland's Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen amassed a 12-15-12 K-D-A ratio for OG.
