The Seattle Storm failed to close out their campaign on a winning note after losing to the Dallas Wings, 103-91, at Climate Pledge Arena on Wednesday.

The Storm, in their first year under coach Sonia Raman, finished with the worst record in the WNBA at 8-36 and missed the playoffs for the second time in four years.

If it is any consolation, the trio of Dominique Malonga, Awa Fam, and Flau'jae Johnson registered a historic feat. According to StatMuse, they were the first trio in league history to score 20 points in the same game before turning 23 years old.

Malonga had a game-high 29 points and eight rebounds, while Fam tallied 22 points and seven rebounds. Johnson tallied 21 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

Despite their record, the future looks bright for the Storm. They made smart decisions in the past two drafts. They selected Malonga with the No. 2 pick in 2025 and Fam with the No. 3 pick this year, while trading for Johnson, who was selected by the Golden State Valkyries with the No. 8 pick. Seattle sent Marta Suarez and a 2028 second-round pick to Golden State to get Johnson.

Malonga, who set multiple records this season, averaged 17.1 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.0 steals, and 1.4 blocks. Johnson tallied 14.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.4 steals, while Fam registered 10.3 points and 5.9 rebounds.

Before the season, Raman touted the Storm's high upside, with their talented trio at the forefront.

“We're going to have this growth mindset of getting better every day. We're going to instill this selfless, together, team-first, sacrifice for each other, celebrate each other's accomplishments mentality,” said Raman in a report from ESPN's Kevin Pelton in October.

Seattle has not returned to the WNBA Finals since winning the title in 2020.
