The Indiana Fever are facing major changes behind the scenes. Stephanie White, though, is expected to remain the steady hand guiding the franchise forward. According to ESPN’s Alexa Philippou, sources expect White to stay as head coach following Friday’s executive shake-up at Pacers Sports & Entertainment. That included the departures of general manager Amber Cox and longtime team president Kelly Krauskopf’s decision to step down.
Krauskopf’s exit marks a significant transition for Indiana. That said, sources told ESPN that her departure had been anticipated as part of a longer-term plan. When she returned to lead the organization in late 2024 and helped bring White back to Indiana, Krauskopf reportedly envisioned a limited tenure of roughly two to three years to rebuild the franchise’s operational foundation.
White’s position, meanwhile, appears secure despite the Fever’s disappointing first-round playoff exit. Her offensive system produced historic results during the regular season. Indiana scored a league-leading 4,222 points and posted a WNBA-best 117.0 offensive rating. Now, the team needs to find a new general manager to shape the 2027 roster around franchise cornerstones Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston. Keeping White in place would offer some continuity as Indiana begins that process.
Article Continues BelowThe Fever’s 2026 campaign delivered both offensive fireworks and a frustrating postseason finish. Indiana went 24-13 and averaged 96.0 points per game. They secured the Eastern Conference’s top spot while earning the No. 4 overall seed. However, defensive shortcomings proved costly when the playoffs arrived. The first-round elimination prompted questions about the team’s next steps. It contributed to the organizational changes now unfolding. With the front office in transition, White’s expected return provides a familiar voice as Indiana looks to turn its regular-season firepower into a deeper postseason run in 2027.
