The Colorado football team is reeling under head coach Deion Sanders. Colorado has lost four consecutive games, after a defeat Saturday against Utah. Former NFL player and commentator Shannon Sharpe is sending a message to Sanders.
“It ain't about you, it's about these kids,” Sharpe said, per Nightcap.
Sharpe went on to say Sanders needs to adjust his approach to recruiting.
“Guys ain't coming. If you can't go to their house, their grandma's house, their mom's house, their granddad's house, they're not coming. It's just not enough for you to be Deion Sanders, Coach Prime,” Sharpe said.
Colorado is just 2-4 this season. The Buffaloes are also 0-3 in the Big 12 standings. Colorado has just one conference win since the start of the 2025 season.
Sharpe thinks Sanders has to do more to show possible recruits that he is the right fit for them.
“You have to take yourself out of the equation. It ain't about you, it's about these kids. And you got to show them that it's about them,” Sharpe said.
Deion Sanders may be on the hot seat at Colorado

A new report from On3 lists Sanders on the hot seat, even though the head coach has a buyout around $26 million. Colorado fans are losing patience with Sanders, as he has already posted two losing seasons in his first three years.
