The Seattle Seahawks are currently gearing up for their upcoming game against the Arizona Cardinals at home. The Seahawks are coming off an ugly home loss to the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, one in which Sam Darnold briefly went down with an apparent leg injury.
Now, the team has gotten a tough update on Darnold's status for the upcoming Cardinals game.
“#Seahawks QB Sam Darnold suffered a quad injury on Monday night vs. the #Bears and is now OUT for Sunday vs. the Arizona Cardinals. Drew Lock will start,” reported NFL insider Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team on X, formerly Twitter.
Darnold previously missed time this year with a different injury suffered in Week 1 against the New England Patriots, and Lock performed quite well in his absence, including knocking off the Cardinals on the road in the second game of the season, so the Seahawks have to feel pretty good about their chances of doing so once again at home.
This time around, the Seahawks will be facing off against Cardinals quarterback Gardner Minshew, who was named the starter recently after torching the Dallas Cowboys en route to a comeback win last week, having taken over for Jacoby Brissett.
It will be interesting to see if Lock has any rust under center or if he is able to pick up where he left off amid his hot play earlier in the season.
In any case, kickoff between the Seahawks and Cardinals is slated for Sunday at 4:25 pm ET from Seattle.
