The Seattle Seahawks got a big Sam Darnold injury update and are 2-0 heading into September 27's game against the Washington Commanders at home. The Seahawks' fanbase watched Darnold suffer a right glute injury that caused a visit to a trauma center for a scan.

Darnold came away from the trip with a new perspective not just on his situation with the Seahawks but also on life, he said in a recent press conference.

“I will say this, just the perspective on life that I got going to the hospital seeing some of the people and what they're dealing with, that was eye-opening, especially in the position I was in, worrying about the injury and how long I was going to be out, it was good to get that perspective, I guess.”

Darnold has been a full participant in coach Mike Macdonald's practices but made a statement about taking things slow heading into the Commanders game. The Seahawks got strong play from backup Drew Lock without Darnold showing the strength of their team and QB room heading into Week 3.

The Commanders, meanwhile, are going through something similar to what Darnold's crew did after Jayden Daniels suffered a dislocated left elbow that led to an obvious injury decision.

The Seahawks suddenly have a big edge at quarterback, assuming Darnold plays up to his capabilities in Week 3. His time off could end up being a blessing in disguise if he picks up where he left off and leads the Seahawks to another win.
