Jaxon Smith-Njigba overwhelmed the Arizona Cardinals defense with his moves as he led the Seattle Seahawks past them by a 31-7 score on Sunday afternoon.

Smith-Njigba started the fourth season of his NFL career, quickly rising to become one of the best receivers in the entire league. He won Offensive Player of the Year in 2025, helping Seattle win Super Bowl 60 in the process.

Smith-Njigba looks to build on that monumental success, which seems to be successful in major ways. He balled out once again during Seattle's Week 2 clash with Arizona, making nine catches for 155 yards and a hat trick of three touchdowns.

Smith-Njigba set history with this performance against Arizona. He reflected on his performance after the game, explaining where he got the moves to catch defenders off guard.

“That’s my hooping skills,” Smith-Njigba said, per reporter John Boyle.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba looks to be a major force in the NFL. Enjoying his hot start to the 2026 season, the Seahawks will have excitement for his growth as a superstar receiver.

Seattle made easy work of Arizona in the convincing 31-7 win on the road. They were even at seven apiece by halftime, but the visitors came alive with 24 consecutive points to seal the game in their favor.

Seattle missed Sam Darnold as he recovers from an injury he suffered in the opener. Drew Lock was effective in his start, completing 19 out of 26 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns.

Emanuel Wilson had a solid night in the run game with 21 carries for 92 yards, while Jadarian Price recorded 13 rushes for 52 yards. Aside from Smith-Njigba, Rashid Shaheed caught three passes for 35 yards and Cooper Kupp made two receptions for 20 yards.

The Seahawks will look forward to their next matchup, remaining on the road. They take on the Washington Commanders in Week 3 as kickoff commences on Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. ET.
