On Sunday afternoon, the Seattle Seahawks pushed their record to 3-1 on the young 2026 NFL season with a comfortable home win over the Los Angeles Chargers. While the Seahawks let their foot off the gas a little early in this one, they still did enough to hang on for a 30-23 win.

The Seahawks were not at full strength in this one, as rookie running back Jadarian Price missed the contest after being placed on IR due to a chest issue.

Now, the team has brought in an NFL veteran to give a look and potentially add to their depleted running back room.

“Free agent RB Joe Mixon is working out for the Seahawks this afternoon, per source,” reported NFL insider Jeremy Fowler of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.

Mixon last played for the Houston Texans during the 2024 season and missed all of last year due to an injury. At the age of 30, it's unclear how much he has left in the tank, but it's certainly a move worth considering for a Seahawks team who is already missing star running back Zach Charbonnet and watched Super Bowl MVP running back Kenneth Walker III take off for the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency this past offseason.

Meanwhile, Price had gotten off to a solid start to his rookie season in Seattle, but will unfortunately be out of the lineup for the foreseeable future as he deals with the chest injury.

Whether it's Mixon or someone else, it certainly wouldn't be a surprise to see the Seahawks add to their running back room before they next hit the field next Sunday for a marquee home game against the undefeated divisional rival San Francisco 49ers.
