New Orleans Saints running back Travis Etienne Jr. appeared on the team's injury report for the first time this season Wednesday ahead of Sunday's Week 3 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Etienne was a limited participant in practice due to a hamstring injury. His ability to take part in practice means he is not immediately ruled out for Sunday, but his condition will remain worth monitoring throughout the week.
The hamstring concern comes as Etienne enters the third week of his first season with the Saints. The 27-year-old signed a four-year, $48 million contract during the offseason.
Through two games, Etienne's production has been modest, with 71 rushing yards on 17 attempts and 38 receiving yards on nine catches. He has yet to score a touchdown.
Etienne has shared New Orleans' backfield workload with Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller. Both Kamara and Miller have nine rushing attempts through the opening two games, while Etienne's 17 carries remain the highest among the three.
The Saints also had three players miss Wednesday's practice entirely. Wide receiver and return specialist Barion Brown was sidelined by a hamstring injury, while cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. dealt with a shoulder issue and defensive lineman Christen Miller was held out with a toe injury.
Brown's hamstring problem is a new development, while Emerson was injured during New Orleans' Week 2 win over the Baltimore Ravens and did not return. Christen Miller sustained his injury during Friday's practice and subsequently missed Sunday's game.
Four other Saints were limited Wednesday. Safety Jonas Sanker was dealing with a knee issue, defensive tackle Nathan Shepherd had a hip injury, and defensive end Chase Young continued to work through a calf problem. Young was also limited during the previous week before playing his full allotment of snaps against the Ravens.
Linebacker Isaiah Stalbird was the only New Orleans player listed as a full participant. He had missed Week 2 after suffering a shoulder injury in the season opener.
The Saints enter their Week 3 showdown at 1-1 and will host the 2-0 Raiders inside the Caesars Superdome.
