The first step for Myles Garrett’s return to the Rams lineup came when he returned to practice earlier this week.

It looks like the final one will come at some point in the near future. NFL Media reports that the linebacker is on track to be activated from injured reserve in time to play against the Commanders this Sunday.

Garrett has been a limited participant in practice during his brief time back on the field. He has not played since having knee surgery after the team’s Week 1 loss to the 49ers in Australia.

If Garrett is back in the lineup on Sunday, it will be his first time sharing the field with defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Donald came out of retirement after Garrett joined the Rams in a trade this offseason and the prospect of the two of them together on the defensive line was one of the reasons why the Rams were preseason favorites to win the Super Bowl.

Those odds have dipped, but a strong showing from the duo in a win would likely help push things back in the other direction.
