Browns running back Dylan Sampson left SundayâÂÂs loss to the Jaguars after hurting his knee in the first quarter and it will reportedly be some time before heâÂÂs back in the lineup.
Head coach Todd Monken said on Monday that Sampson was still being evaluated, but Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that he is expected to miss significant time.
Sampson returned two kickoffs before leaving the loss to Jacksonville. He is the No. 2 back behind Quinshon Judkins on the depth chart, but the Browns only played one offensive series prior to his injury.
Sampson was a fourth-round pick last year and ran 65 times for 175 yards as a rookie. He also caught 33 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns.
Raheim Sanders is the only other back behind Judkins on the 53-man roster. Former Bronco Jaleel McLaughlin is on the practice squad.
