The Boston Red Sox bounced back following a difficult start to the regular season, but they still ultimately came up short in the postseason. Boston is likely going to make some roster changes during the offseason. One player who has been mentioned in trade rumors in recent years is Jarren Duran — and that's not expected to change this offseason. According to Sean McAdam of masslive.com, the outfielder will be tendered a contract but then is “widely expected” to be made available in trade talks.

Duran, 30, was an All-Star in 2024. He had an .834 OPS that year. His past two seasons have been more inconsistent, but he's still a guy who is going to offer a team a quality combination of power and speed. Duran has hit at least 20 home runs in two of the past three years and stolen 21 or more bases in four consecutive seasons.

A number of teams make sense as landing destinations for Jarren Duran. He should draw interest given his skill set. Duran also plays the game hard and brings energy to the field. Teams in need of outfield help and more power or speed could consider reaching out to Boston. He's still under team control for a couple more years as well.

It will be interesting to see how motivated Boston is to move him this offseason. Will the Red Sox settle for an offer that perhaps doesn't especially stand out? Would they rather hold onto Duran than trade him for less than what they are looking for? Those are the questions they will need to answer this offseason.
