The Baltimore Ravens are currently gearing up for their Week 3 game on the road against the Dallas Cowboys in Brazil. The Ravens are looking to bounce back after an ugly choke job loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon at home.
Heading into the Cowboys matchup, much has been made about the field conditions in Rio, which has been a problem during previous NFL games in the city.
However, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson doesn't seem concerned amid the NFL's insistence that all is well.
“I believe that the NFL does a great job of having their specialists go out there and look over the field. I can't worry about that. I've just got to worry about getting us a dub in Brazil. It's our first time in Rio. We've played on bad fields plenty of times, so I can't really dwell on that. We're just going there to play football,” he said, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.
Star defensive back Kyle Hamilton also gave his thoughts on the issue.
“I'll have to see when I get down there obviously. There's a lot of ‘he said, she said,' kind of thing going on right now, so we'll see,” he said.
The turf vs grass debate reignited this summer when NFL stadiums routinely switched their fields to real grass to accommodate the FIFA World Cup, only to revert back to turf prior to the NFL season.
It remains to be seen whether the field conditions in Rio will become a part of the storyline, or if the Ravens and Cowboys will provide all the talking points on Sunday afternoon.
