Coach Jesse Minter's Ravens are 4-2 on the season but feeling the pressure of a jam-packed AFC North race and missing star quarterback Lamar Jackson, who returned to practice recently. Teammates including Marlon Humphrey have rallied to Jackson's defense this season amid injury difficulties, with fans wondering about his status for Week 7's potential duel against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals.

ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Henley shared an update on Jackson from coach Minter, which gave clues as to his potential status for the big game.

“We're still working through that,” Minter, the former Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator, said. Minter added that Jackson got a “pretty good amount of work in” during practice this week, adding to hopes that he will return for Week 7's game.

Jackson has not played since a 222-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Tennessee Titans on October 4. Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle was not fond of Baltimore's Week 6 performance, calling it “not up to our standards.” Tyler Huntley has had his moments filling in for Jackson, but he is limited compared to the former Heisman Trophy winner and annual NFL MVP candidate.

Jackson and Burrow going toe-to-toe in Baltimore would make for must-see TV, and a chance for the Ravens to stake their claim as the AFC North's best team nearly midway through the season. Ravens fans are waiting on pins and needles for Jackson's return, and understandably so, but it's starting to look like they may not find out who's starting until just before game time.
