The Baltimore Ravens have a Brazil trip on deck against the Dallas Cowboys. And a chance for rookie head coach Jesse Minter to redeem himself from taking his first career loss. Now Baltimore addressed the New Orleans Saints defeat by adding Teddye Buchanan back to the active roster.
CBS Sports NFL and college football senior reporter Matt Zenitz dropped this big Thursday update.
“Linebacker Teddye Buchanan, who has been working back from a December knee injury, is expected to return to action and make his season debut Sunday versus the Cowboys, sources tell CBS Sports,” Zenitz posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter. “Posted 93 tackles in 14 games last year prior to suffering the torn ACL.”
This is huge for a defensive-minded coach like Minter. Baltimore already has surrendered more than 20 points in both games. Which is uncharacteristic of past Raven teams considering their defensive identity. New Orleans delivered 24 points during the week two upset of the Ravens.
But Buchanan isn't the only notable returner to monitor here. Defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver added that defensive lineman and past Pro Bowler Nnamdi Madubuike is making his way back as well. Launching the feeling that Madubuike will play in week three and make the trip south of the Equator.
Baltimore aims to become restrengthened over at Minter's area of expertise. Meanwhile, quarterback Lamar Jackson will aim to redeem himself from a costly interception that sealed the Saints victory. Both Dallas and Baltimore walk into its Rio de Janeiro showdown at 1-1 overall.
