The Los Angeles Rams lost a key member of their defensive unit against the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday after cornerback Jaylen Watson suffered a shoulder injury.
Watson sustained it with 2:58 left in the second quarter. It is still unclear what caused it, but he went down in pain and had to be helped off the field by trainers. He went to the blue tent before being carted to the locker room.
According to the Rams on X, Watson was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
He finished with two total tackles, including one for loss, and two passes defended.
The 28-year-old Watson signed a three-year, $51 million contract with the Rams in the offseason after winning two titles with the Kansas City Chiefs.
As of this writing, Los Angeles is leading Denver in the second quarter.
