The Los Angeles Rams' season is quickly spiralling out of control. Pegged as the top contender to win the Super Bowl this year, Los Angeles' season is in danger of dying before the halfway point of the season. They are 2-4 after six games and currently sit at the bottom of their division. It's safe to say that this isn't where the Rams expected to be at this point of the season.
To make matters worse, one of their star players will be out for a meaningful time due to an injury. Star wide receiver Davante Adams suffered a ruptured hamstring in Week 6 and is now out for an extended period of time. Adams has already undergone surgery to repair his hamstring. According to Rams head coach Sean McVay, though, Adams will need an extra procedure.
“Sean McVay said Davante Adams will need a “cleanup” procedure on his hamstring but it has not been scheduled yet.” Sarah Barshop reported on X. “‘I think they're going to give it a couple days and figure out exactly when is the best time,' McVay said.”
Adams' injury is just the latest addition to the long list of injuries and troubles that the Rams have been dealing with this season. They have already played the majority of the 2026 season without Myles Garrett, who underwent knee surgery earlier this year. They've also dealt with other injuries this season, but Garrett's and Adams' injuries are the most consequential of them all.
Article Continues BelowEven when they were completely healthy, though, the Rams have been struggling. Adams suffered the injury in their Week 6 game against the Cardinals, but the Los Angeles offense was already struggling before that injury happened. A combination of special teams mishaps and stagnation on offense has led to this supposed superteam struggling to generate any momentum this year.
The Rams have a chance to bounce back in Week 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders. On paper, the Rams should be a better team. However, this better team on paper has struggled to put away teams as of late. Can the shorthanded team bounce back?
