Kirk Cousins got firm praise from Klint Kubiak for his efforts despite seeing the Las Vegas Raiders fall 30-27 to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon.

Cousins has been playing in the NFL since 2012, going through his first year with the Raiders. He is the starting quarterback while he mentors rookie Fernando Mendoza and help Las Vegas significantly improve after being one of the worst teams last season.

The Raiders exceeded expectations to start the year, winning their first three games. However, their perfect start came to an end as they went down fighting against Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City.

Kubiak reflected on the performance after the game, per reporter Jesse Merrick. Despite Cousins throwing a costly interception that won Kansas City the game, Kubiak reaffirmed his support for the veteran quarterback.

“That’s who he is. He played really good football tonight. That’s why we brought him here,” Kubiak said.
