The Las Vegas Raiders have yet to play a game with Brock Bowers on the field this season, as he underwent a meniscus trim in his left knee during training camp. After not being placed on IR, Bowers has seemingly been deemed week-to-week. With Week 3 quickly approaching, head coach Klint Kubiak revealed the star tight end's official status for the contest.
Bowers is officially deemed questionable for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints, according to Sam Warren of The Athletic. The 23-year-old did not participate in practice on Friday, but that appears to be part of his recovery plan.
“Brock Bowers is questionable to play against the Saints this weekend, Klint Kubiak announced. He said his non-participation was part of the plan today.”
Furthermore, Kubiak announced that Bowers will not be given a pregame workout before kicking off in New Orleans, per Warren. That was something the Raiders had the third-year pro do in Week 2 before facing off against the Los Angeles Chargers.
“Kubiak said the team will not be working Bowers out pregame like they did before the Chargers game last week,” Warren posted.
Brock Bowers' official return is still up in the air. It's a good sign that he is at least questionable just two days before taking on the Saints. However, whether he plays or not likely won't be known until about 90 minutes before kickoff on Sunday.
The former first-round pick burst onto the scene in the 2024-25 campaign after eclipsing 1,000 yards in receiving as a rookie. Through 29 games played in the NFL so far (24 starts), Bowers has accumulated 176 receptions for 1,874 yards and 12 touchdowns off 239 targets.
