The New England Patriots have just started their season, and they're missing some key players on offense. A.J. Brown is one of those players after injuring his ankle in their game against the Seattle Seahawks, and he's expected to miss the next three to six weeks. That means it's next man up for the Patriots, and Kyle Williams is already ready to show what he can do when the targets are coming his way.
âÂÂA lot. If I want to really go I'd give you a Christmas list for realâ¦I could do a lot, man, and just when those opportunities present itself that's when I'll be able to show it. I know I'm more than just speed,â Williams said via CLNS Media.
Williams is in his second year in the league, and though he is known for his speed, the Patriots are going to need him to turn that into scores on the field. He should be able to build more chemistry with Drake Maye over the next few weeks, and that could turn him into a real option for the offense, even when Brown returns.
Outside of Williams, other players will have to step up on offense as well, such as Romeo Doubs. The wide receiver didn't have the best debut with his new team in Week 1, as he had a crucial drop in the fourth quarter. When he was asked about his confidence after the game, he said that his play had nothing to do with that.
âÂÂNo. Like I said, I just wasnâÂÂt locked in enough on the football. The results speak for themselves. IâÂÂll be better moving forward,â Doubs said.
If Doubs can have a bounce-back week and keep that momentum going forward as the season continues, there's a good chance the Patriots will be in good shape.
