The Philadelphia Phillies backed into the MLB playoffs, holding off the Arizona Diamondbacks for the final wild card spot in the National League. The Phillies made some solid moves at the MLB trade deadline, looking to improve the roster for the 2026 playoff run.

As the team has released its roster for the NL Wild Card series against the Atlanta Braves, the trade deadline is looking less solid and more of a bust, per Matt Gelb of The Athletic.

“Phillies do not have Brooks Raley on their Wild Card roster, which means all three players they acquired at trade deadline — Arraez, Kilian, Raley — are off,” Gelb posted on X, formerly Twitter.

The most surprising of the group was the lack of Raley on the roster. He was acquired from the New York Mets at the trade deadline. He was solid in the first month with the team, making ten appearances in August and giving up three runs in 7.2 innings of work. Still, the reliever struggled in September. He has a 17.18 ERA for the Phillies over his last six appearances.

Luis Arraez is less surprising. While he was the biggest name the team brought in at the deadline, Arraez has been saddled with an ankle injury. He hit .278 with 21 RBIs in his 46 games with the team after being traded from the San Francisco Giants.
