The Philadelphia Phillies recently staved off elimination and forced a decisive Game 3 against the Atlanta Braves with a thrilling comeback win in Game 2 on Wednesday. One of the heroes of this one for Philadelphia was Bryce Harper, who overcame a brutal fielding mishap earlier in the contest by hitting a home run in the eighth inning to tie things up.
After the game, Harper revealed how his son inspired his bounce-back hit to help tie the series.
“I was thinking about Crew, my son, and what I would say to him in that situation. I think it's a learning situation, not for myself, but everybody else as well. You try to flush it as quick as possible. I grew up playing in a lot of big games… I don't think people understand what that feels like or looks like,” he said, per Jon Morosi of the MLB Network on X, formerly Twitter.
Harper sure looked like someone used to playing on the biggest stage by shaking off the fielding mistake and launching the home run the very next inning to tie the game. Just before he took the plate, Kyle Schwarber had hit a monster home run to cut the deficit to one, setting the stage for Harper to even things up.

The Phillies now will gear up for a winner take all game on Thursday evening against the Braves, with the winner moving on to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS, and the loser seeing their season come to an end.
First pitch is set for 8:00 pm ET from Atlanta.
