On the latest edition of the Paul Finebaum Show, Finebaum defended Texas quarterback Arch Manning against accusations of a dull interview. Manning has drawn a lot of attention after controversy over Holly Rowe and an AI video of her that he watched after the Longhorns' come-from-behind victory over Ohio State. Bob Ballou Sports posted on X that Arch has answered questions from the media on Saturday and Monday with less than a minute of answers.

Finebaum believes that the reason why Manning hasn't showcased personality during the last few media appearances is that the questions aren't inspired.

So I just wanna say something here, 'cause, you know, Seth's a friend of mine, but I'm with Arch. Arch made fools out of everybody in that room because they helped make him look like a fool last week with the Holly Rowe situation. They all laughed, and he took all the heat. The bottom line is, I say this to any media member, don't criticize the subject if you ask stupid and bogus questions, which I heard on most of those.

Finebaum added, “If you ask Arch Manning a pertinent question maybe he will answer them. If you don't sit there like a bunch of fanboys, uh, drooling oover his sweat, then, then maybe he'll give something back in return.”

Finebaum then went as far as saying that Manning doesn't need the members of the media. He can tell his story on his own platforms.

“Guys like Arch Manning do not need the local yokels in the media. He can reach millions of people with one Instagram post. He can reach millions of people by doing something more than sitting there listening to a bunch of dumb questions from the local media who look like a pack of wolves trying to get some meat at feeding.”
