The New England Patriots received unfortunate news when it came to lineman Mike Onwenu's availability for the rest of the 2026 season following the team's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon.

Onwenu suffered the ankle injury in the first quarter during the team's home opener. The injury came on a play when quarterback Drake Maye was sacked and Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt landed on the back of Onwenu's legs.

Team officials carted him off the game as the injury ruled him out for the rest of the game. Following the contest's conclusion, NFL insider Jordan Schultz provided major news that will present concern for the offensive line moving forward.
