The New England Patriots fell to 4-3 on the season after a 30-24 defeat to the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football. Patriots quarterback Drake Maye threw for 321 yards with two touchdowns. However, his pass intended for tight end Eli Raridon was intercepted in the end zone, costing his team points during the second quarter.
Maye looked back on that play and admitted it was a big turning point in the game.
“It definitely was a huge point in the game. Those plays, I talk about it all the time, those plays can swing the game. That was definitely one right there. I wish I had that one back and a lot of plays. But give credit to them, they had a good plan on short week and really got after us,” Maye said.

But instead of getting a touchdown or at least a field goal from that drive, the Pats came away empty-handed as Bears drove down the field and scored a touchdown to go up 20-7. The Pats would quickly hit back with a touchdown just before halftime as Maye found Rhamondre Stevenson for 48 yards, but they never quite got closer than that.
After a rocky start to the season, with seven interceptions in his first four games, Maye had not thrown a pick in his previous two games. But that run was finally snapped against the Bears at an inopportune time. Hopefully, Maye will learn from that miscue and bounce back in the team's next game against the Miami Dolphins.
