Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas has been a friendly place for the Chiefs to play since it opened in 2020.

The Chiefs have played seven games in the building and they’ve won six of them, including Super Bowl LVIII. That win came over the 49ers, but the other six games have been against the Raiders and the only Chiefs loss came as both teams played out the string in Week 18 of the 2025 season.

Patrick Mahomes did not play in that game, so he’s never lost to the Raiders in their current home and he’s used to playing in front of Chiefs-leaning crowds when he has been in Vegas in the past. With the Raiders riding a 3-0 start into Sunday’s game, the expectation is that things will be a bit more balanced and Mahomes said that he’s preparing for less hospitality than he’s experienced in the past.

“I love playing football. It doesn’t matter to me,” Mahomes said. “I love the Chiefs fans traveling, it’s always cool to see the red in the stadium and hear “Home of the Chiefs” in the national anthem, but, at the end of the day, it’s about playing football. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a very hostile environment, trying to take it back to those Oakland Raiders days. I’m excited just for the challenge, you know? They’ve playing great football, you can see it on tape. That 3-0 record’s real. They’ve been playing great the entire season and, for us, it’s another step, another challenge we have to go up there and match.”

The Chiefs are 3-0 as well, which makes Sunday’s matchup a marquee game in Week 4 and one that could have long-reaching ramifications on the AFC West race.
