Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker suffered a quad injury in Sunday's frustrating 21-18 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Coker, who entered the contest questionable because of an ankle issue, exited early in the third quarter and did not return.

After the game, Coker provided an update on the injury, saying he did not believe it was “anything too crazy” and did not consider it a “bad” injury. An official diagnosis has not yet been revealed, with further updates expected within 24 to 48 hours.

Coker previously missed 12 games during his first two NFL seasons with quad problems. He entered the Week 3 matchup as Carolina's leading receiver but finished with only two receptions. One of those catches was a 13-yard toe-tap reception along the sideline.

Coker's absence left the Panthers thin at wide receiver. Xavier Legette was inactive because of a knee injury sustained the previous week, leaving Tetairoa McMillan, John Metchie III, Brycen Tremayne and David Moore available. Tremayne responded with a game-high 82 receiving yards, while McMillan recorded two catches on five targets for 17 yards.

Coker was one of several Carolina players affected by injuries during the loss. Starting cornerback Mike Jackson left in the first half with a groin injury, while Jaycee Horn suffered a quad injury after the Browns' game-winning touchdown. Left guard Damien Lewis also left with an elbow injury before returning with a large brace.

Quarterback Bryce Young was evaluated in the medical tent for a lower-body issue but did not miss a snap. He completed 26 of 48 passes for 291 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

The Panthers will host the Detroit Lions next Sunday night.
