The Green Bay Packers pulled off their biggest win of the season on Sunday. Green Bay crushed Chicago 31-7 in a highly anticipated rivalry game that arguably saved their season. One reason why the Packers have stayed alive early in the 2026 campaign is the breakout of one offensive weapon.

Packers wide receiver Christian Watson is enjoying a truly special start to the 2026 season. In fact, Watson is in prime Randy Moss territory after his first five games this fall.

Watson has 26 receptions for 474 receiving yards and six touchdowns through five games, per Packers reporter Zach Kruse. That is awfully close to Moss' production from his 1998 season. Moss logged 22 receptions for 463 receiving yards and six touchdowns through his first five games that season.

If Watson continues on this trajectory, it will be great news for Green Bay's offense. Remember, Moss finished the 1998 season with 69 receptions for 1,313 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns. That was in a 16-game season, so Watson could have the advantage of playing in one additional game if he can stay healthy.

Watson was one of a handful of offensive players who willed the Packers to victory in Week 5. He finished with six receptions for 143 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The veteran receiver routinely made big plays against a compromised Bears defense.

Green Bay also got their running game going, which helped seal the victory. MarShawn Lloyd rumbled for 31 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just 10 attempts.

Unfortunately, not all of the news out of Green Bay was positive after Sunday's win. Packers defensive tackle Javon Hargrave is believed to have torn his Achilles after exiting in Week 5. If confirmed, it would be Green Bay's second season-ending injury in as many weeks. They lost Edgerrin Cooper to a season-ending Achilles injury in Week 4.

The Packers are very much alive in the NFC North after improving to 3-2 and beating a division opponent. Hopefully they can keep the momentum rolling into next week.

Next up for the Packers is a Week 6 matchup against the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.
