The stars finally aligned on Tuesday for Baltimore Orioles star slugger Pete Alonso, who reached a milestone New York Mets fans had wanted to see in the series.

Alonso made history in the top of the ninth inning at his old stomping grounds, Citi Field in Queens, hitting a towering home run not only to tie the game at 3-3, but also to become the latest member of MLB's 300 home run club.

After taking a ball in each of the first two pitches from Mets reliever Kodai Senga, Alonso turned on an 82 mph forkball for a solo shot that went 414 feet deep.
