The Baltimore Orioles on Friday recalled left-hander Cade Povich from Triple-A Norfolk and optioned right-handed reliever Codi Heuer to Norfolk.

Povich will take the mound against the Milwaukee Brewers after being scratched from his scheduled Triple-A start earlier this week. The 26-year-old has moved between Norfolk and Baltimore throughout the 2026 season and has served as rotation depth for the Orioles.

In seven appearances with Baltimore this season, including six starts, Povich has recorded a 4.05 ERA and 1.44 WHIP over 33 1/3 innings. He has struck out 25 batters while issuing 13 walks and owns a 2-1 record. His Triple-A numbers include a 6.28 ERA and 1.43 WHIP across 13 starts, with 69 strikeouts and 23 walks.

Heuer returns to Norfolk after spending four days with the Orioles. He did not appear in a game during that stretch.

Povich's return comes as Baltimore deals with injuries to its pitching staff. The Orioles recently lost Kyle Bradish for the season because of a sports hernia after he made 2026 his first full season back from Tommy John surgery. Bradish threw 155 innings this year after logging 32 innings the previous season.

The Orioles enter the Brewers series with a 75-78 record, sitting three games out of the final American League Wild Card spot with nine games remaining.
