Oregon head coach Dan Lanning had the last laugh against Ohio State, cheekily taunting the Buckeyes during Saturday's stunning 41-28 road win. The Ducks overcame an early 14-point deficit before putting together a remarkable scoring run that left the home crowd heading for the exits.

Ranked No. 23 in the College Football Playoff rankings, Oregon (6-3, 4-2 Big Ten) scored 38 unanswered points versus No. 12 Ohio State (6-3, 4-2), turning a difficult afternoon into one of the most consequential results of the Buckeyes' season. The defeat not only ended Ohio State's 12-game home winning streak but also gave the program its first consecutive losses since 2011.

Lanning's aggressive approach played a huge role in the turnaround. Trailing 14-3 late in the second quarter, the Ducks faced fourth-and-9 at its own 31-yard line. Instead of punting, Oregon executed a fake that saw linebacker Teitum Tuioti find fellow linebacker Matayo Uiagalelei for a 30-yard gain. The conversion helped set up a 70-yard touchdown drive, which ended with running back Dierre Hill Jr.'s 9-yard scoring run.

The Ducks then received another opportunity after defensive back Devin Jackson intercepted Buckeyes freshman quarterback Luke Fahey near the sideline. With two seconds remaining before halftime, Lanning declined to settle for a field goal. Oregon used an unusual formation, with tight end Jamari Johnson taking a direct snap and powering into the end zone for a 2-yard touchdown. That gave the Ducks a 17-14 lead heading into the break.

Oregon carried that momentum into the second half. Hill broke through Ohio State's defense for a 48-yard touchdown run on the opening possession, extending the advantage to 24-14. Ducks quarterback Dylan Raiola later connected with Dakorien Moore for an impressive one-handed, 11-yard touchdown reception before Brandon Smith added another score on a 15-yard screen pass.

As Oregon continued to pull away, frustration became increasingly visible on the Buckeyes' sideline. Wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, who finished with seven receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown, was seen shouting toward coaches and teammates early in the fourth quarter.

Ohio State's frustrations eventually spilled over near the Ducks' sideline, where players from both teams exchanged words after an Oregon scoring play. Lanning responded by pointing the opposing players toward the scoreboard, letting the numbers do all the talking. By that stage, the Ducks had already scored 38 consecutive points, and many Buckeyes supporters had left the stadium with more than 10 minutes remaining.

Oregon's explosive stretch left Ohio State with little chance of recovering. Fahey finished with 360 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception on 36-of-50 passing, while the Buckeyes were unable to generate meaningful offense during the Ducks scoring surge. They eventually added two late touchdowns, but those scores could not change the outcome.

For Ohio State, the setback marked its first three-loss season since 2011 and severely damaged its College Football Playoff hopes. The Buckeyes also suffered their first back-to-back defeats against unranked opponents since October 1992.

Meanwhile, Oregon has won consecutive games despite losing starting quarterback Dante Moore to a season-ending concussion. Raiola completed 25 of 40 passes for 257 yards and two touchdowns, while Hill contributed 75 rushing yards and two scores.

The Ducks will now turn their attention to a home game versus Michigan next Saturday.
