The Ole Miss football program is just two days away from resuming its season on Saturday on the road vs the Florida Gators. The Rebels are coming off a thrilling home win over Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers, with Trinidad Chambliss putting together a monster performance to defeat his former head coach.

Fans have wondered what NFL Draft scouts think of Chambliss as his final college football season continues, and now, more light has been shed on that front.

“There are some in the NFL personnel and scouting world who still regard Chambliss as more of a Day 2 prospect, and some who even still see him as a fringe Day 2/early Day 3 player at the moment. The justification for the latter from one player personnel director was a lack of prototypical size with Chambliss, who officially measured for scouts at 5-foot-11 7/8 and 208 pounds,” reported Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.

There are also reportedly concerns about Chambliss “operating on time in a normal NFL offense.”

Indeed, a large part of Chambliss' ability at the college football level is due to his ability to improvise and extend plays with his legs, which may not work as often against superior NFL athletes, where windows close much quicker.

Also potentially adding to his lack of viability as a first-round pick is Chambliss' age, as he will be 25 years old by the time his rookie NFL season starts, having been awarded another year of college eligibility by a judge this past offseason.

For now, Chambliss will focus on getting the Rebels a road win against Florida, with kickoff set for Saturday at 3:30 pm ET.
