Coach Pete Golding's Ole Miss Rebels entered Week 7 as slight favorites at home against No. 13 Missouri and turned Vegas on its head with a 31-3 beatdown of the Tigers. The game came after a former Ole Miss DT attempted to return to college but was denied as Golding's team pressed onward.
Golding has now defeated a ranked team in five of his first nine games as head coach, which is the most ranked wins to starting a coach career of all-time according to SEC Numbers Guy.
The Rebels were led by possible first round pick Trinidad Chambliss, who racked up 241 yards passing and three touchdowns. Two running backs went over the 100-yard mark for coach Golding's team including Kewan Lacy with 122 on 16 carries and Makhi Frazier with 15 carries for 101 yards.
The Tigers compiled 378 total yards, but were kept out of the end zone by defensive coordinator Patrick Toney's unit, which intercepted Austin Simmons once on the day. Golding, Lane Kiffin's former defensive coordinator, has managed to keep Chambliss' offensive production high while also leading his team to clutch defensive performances, time after time against high quality SEC competition.

A road game against Texas on October 24 suddenly looks more winnable than ever, and would give Golding's resume yet another boost.
The Rebels are a team to watch going forward, and it's not just because of their Heisman contending quarterback. Golding has shown he has what it takes to go toe-to-toe with the giants of college football, and win, a positive development for a program looking to take the next step.
