Ohio State has a Top 25 matchup against Iowa coming up this Saturday. College GameDay will be on-site for the game between Iowa and Ohio State after the Hawkeyes pulled off a miracle to beat Michigan last week.
With Ohio State and Iowa set to face each other this weekend, it would make sense for Ohio State head coach Ryan Day to watch the game. Day was asked about the game, per Stefan Krajisnik of Cleveland.com.
“Ryan Day was asked if he ever takes the coaching hat off and just enjoys watching a game like Iowa's at Michigan: ‘I did with that one,'” Krajisnik posted on X, formerly Twitter.
Iowa defeated Michigan, the archrival of Ohio State, on the final play of the game. It was a 16-yard touchdown pass from Hank Brown to Reece Vander Zee that capped a 91-yard drive as time expired. The win moved Iowa to 4-0 on the year and ranked 14th in the latest AP Top 25. It also put Iowa on the radar of Day as a big-time game, per Jake Trotter of ESPN.
Article Continues Below“This is a big opportunity for our team, to go into a tough road environment against a very good team and go get a win,” Day said Tuesday. “That certainly would build a lot of momentum for our season as we move forward.”
This is the start of a season-defining stretch of games for Ohio State. After the road trip to Iowa, they will host Maryland. Then, Ohio State visits Indiana and USC in back-to-back games before hosting Oregon.
The Top 25 matchup between Ohio State and Iowa is set for a 3:30 pm ET kick on Saturday.
