Ohio State fell to Texas 24-23 on Saturday. Ryan Day and the Buckeyes had a 20-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Still, the team blew the lead as Texas scored 21 points in the fourth quarter. After the game, Day was crushed for the choke job and his poor decision-making.

In the fourth quarter, Ohio State missed a field goal, leading to Texas getting the ball back at their own 27-yard line, and down just six points. They had 4:10 to drive the field and got the ball to the Ohio State one-yard line with 55 seconds to go and one timeout. Instead of keeping the timeout, letting Texas score, and trying to drive the field for the game-winning field goal, they attempted to stop Texas. It backfired. Texas still scored, and Ohio State had just 25 seconds left without a timeout. Now, Ryan Day is admitting to his mistake, per Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors.

“Asked if Ohio State should have let Texas score on its final drive in hindsight, Ryan Day says, ‘Well, it didn’t work, so yes,'” Hope posted on X, formerly Twitter.
