Noel Gallagher says his heart swelled with pride as his son 'got stuck into' Manchester United fans at Sunday's derby.

Oasis star and die-hard Manchester City fan Gallagher was in the away end at Old Trafford as Erling Haaland's controversial goal won the game for the ten-man visitors.

'My heart is full of pride'

And Gallagher revealed his son Sonny got thoroughly swept up in the occasion.

Speaking to Andy Goldstein and former Man United goalkeeper Ben Foster on talkSPORT DriveTime, he said: "There comes a point in your time as a father where you look at your children and you think, 'My god, I brought you up well' – when they feel it as much as you do and when they get it.

"Let's not forget, when you're in that away end and the United fans are in front of you, they're giving it to you as much as you're giving it to them.

"But he made the newspapers today and my heart is full of pride for my sons who got stuck into it yesterday and got stuck into the United fans as well."

A special day for the Gallagher family

Gallagher also revealed that it was his sons' – Sonny and brother Donovan – first trip to an away Manchester derby.

The pair were spotted jokingly taunting United fans by making crude gestures from the stands.

"Ordinarily I wouldn't [go]," Gallagher continued. "I don't like going to Old Trafford because it can get a bit spicy getting in and out, but they were there.

"They were so keen to go because they'd never been, so I went for them really and they got stuck into it big time and it was a great, great day."

Understandably, Gallagher was thrilled about the manner of City's victory.

Enzo Maresca's side played more than hour with ten men after Phil Foden's contentious red card for kicking out at Bruno Fernandes.

"Obviously we celebrated like made for about five seconds [after Haaland's goal which was initially disallowed for offside]," Gallagher said. "We thought he looked offside even this morning.

"I was watching Match of the Day. He looks offside on the telly, so everyone thought it was offside, but it's the toenail of a boot.

"And no one's talking about the finish. How he got it in and across the other side of the goal is unbelievable.

"The fact that has gone our way [and] our whole strategy with 10 men is unbelievable."

Oasis to hit the road again in 2027

Gallagher also discussed Oasis' latest tour announcement, following their momentous 2025 reunion.

The Britpop icons will play 38 dates across Europe and North America next year.

They include a whopping 11 nights at City's Etihad Stadium and a return to Knebworth, the site of their legendary 1996 shows.
