A new trailer for the Nicolas Cage-led John Madden movie is here, and it is bonkers. It showcases the elite ensemble, which also includes Christian Bale and John Mulaney.
The trailer begins by showing the glitz and glamour of Madden's coaching career. His teams are celebrated until he is no longer able to coach.
Tragedy hits when a bleeding ulcer is discovered. He finds a new lease on life when he's presented with a video game. That game, which he is not amused by initially, would become the iconic Madden video game series. He gives his playbook, full of his most successful calls, to the developer, played by Mulaney.
The movie also shows his transition into the broadcast booth. Just like coaching, he excels at calling the games, delivering iconic one-liners.
At the end of the trailer, Madden is shown a mixtape from NWA. He cannot fathom the names of the members of the group like Dr. Dre and Ice Cube.
