The Green Bay Packers are off to a 1-2 start this season, and they have to continue without running back Josh Jacobs, who is on the commissioner's exempt list after pleading no contest to misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal damage from an incident with his girlfriend during the offseason.
The one thing that may be standing in the way of him getting back on the field anytime soon is the video the court has of the incident, and the NFL has been trying to get their hands on it. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the league has officially requested the video.
“I do not expect an imminent return for Josh Jacobs. It's not expected to be something where they're going to snap their fingers and he'll be back on the field next week,” Rapoport said on GameDay Live. “Where it all stands is this… my understanding is the NFL has officially requested the video of the incident that right now has been going through the courts. They filed a Freedom of Information Act request. It is not something that happens within a couple of days. It's more likely to be within a couple of weeks.
“He's on the commissioner's exempt list; that is expected to count as time served, so if they get to the point where it's five games, six games, maybe eight games, that might be when you're looking at a potential return for Josh Jacobs.”

It was originally requested by the victim that the video not get out, but now the Hobart/Lawrence police department can determine if that continues to be the case.
If the video does get to the league, there will probably be more clarity on how long Jacobs ends up being suspended for.
