Earlier this year, Netflix launched a documentary on the life of WWE legend Hulk Hogan. Now, they have again followed it up with another documentary on boxing great Mike Tyson.

Netflix has now officially announced TYSON, a four-part documentary series. The series explores the life and legacy of former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson. The docuseries will be directed by Floyd Russ and executive produced by Bill Simmons, Jim Gray, and Ian Orefice. It is set to premiere globally on Netflix on Oct. 13, 2026.

Spread over four 60-minute episodes, the documentary will follow the boxer’s journey from a troubling childhood in Brooklyn to becoming the youngest heavyweight champion ever. Apart from his rise to worldwide superstardom, the series will also address the intense fame, cultural impact, personal decisions, and public controversies that marked his career.

The upcoming TYSON docuseries is the brainchild of the man who brought American Manhunt: O.J. Simpson. Tyson's recently released trailer explores the various aspects of his life and personality. The first eight seconds of the trailer show Tyson in the ring, him wrestling a tiger, and even being led away in handcuffs. Within the very first 10 seconds, fans get a glimpse of Tyson's wild life and how eccentric the upcoming documentary could be.

The documentary will present a never-before-seen glimpse into Tyson's life. The first voice in the trailer is that of his late trainer, Cus D'Amato. D'Amato served as Tyson's first trainer and a father figure. He was responsible for training Tyson the iconic style that led him to several notable victories. The trailer featured scenes of his celebrated boxing career as well as his controversial personal life. Later this year, fans will be able to learn more about the legend.

While Tyson had a long boxing career, it was filled with several ups and downs. Numerous clashes with the law became a part of his life's struggles. Interestingly, Tyson chomping down on Evander Holyfield's ear is also highlighted in the trailer.
