Romeo Doubs was one of the biggest additions to the Patriots roster during the offseason, but his first outing for his new team was not a successful one.
Doubs did not catch a pass in New EnglandâÂÂs 13-10 loss to the Seahawks last Wednesday and he had a crucial drop in the fourth quarter on what would have been a long gain. Doubs said after the game that he wasnâÂÂt âÂÂlocked inâ and head coach Mike Vrabel did not sound concerned about the wideoutâÂÂs ability to bounce back during a Monday press conference.
âÂÂHe dropped a pass,â Vrabel said, via a transcript from the team. âÂÂYou know what I mean? Guys, everybody drops a pass. Everybody misses a tackle. You talk to him the same way you always talk to him. Figure out a way to make a play to help us win, and he did a lot of great things during camp, just like everybody did. And so, I know heâÂÂs excited to get back out there, get to work and to find a way to help us win.âÂÂ
The need for Doubs to find ways to help the Patriots increased when A.J. Brown went down with an ankle injury. Doubs couldnâÂÂt do that in Seattle, but the Patriots will need him to get on track because Brown is going to miss at least the next four games while he recovers.
