The Philadelphia Eagles had issues with their offensive line last season, but the unit has been a clear problem through the first two weeks of the 2026 campaign. Landon Dickerson is injured and players are shifting positions, leaving many to wonder if general manager Howie Roseman will seek reinforcements. There is a free agent who has already enjoyed success with the franchise and knows almost everyone on the O-Line. And he may be open to a reunion.
When asked by a fan when he is returning to Philly, Super Bowl 59 champion Mekhi Becton had an interesting response. “Tell them to call me, man,” he said, via the Eagles Nation X account.

The No. 11 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft was unable to sustain momentum with the New York Jets and ultimately hit the open market as a wild card. Roseman was willing to take a chance on the former Louisville standout and signed him to a one-year contract in 2024. The low-cost move yielded big results. Becton rediscovered his spark on the Eagles and morphed into a highly dependable right guard. Once again, though, he could not stay on an upward trajectory.
The 6-foot-7, 363-pounder's play plummeted after he inked a two-year, $20 million deal with the Los Angeles Chargers. He claimed to be unfamiliar with some of the concepts that then-offensive coordinator Greg Roman was asking him to implement, which only added to the fans' fury. LA released Mekhi Becton in March, and he has not joined a roster since.
Although Philadelphia is seemingly desperate for offensive line depth, there is risk in reuniting with Becton. His conditioning has been a concern in the past and could be again given the layoff. But if the Eagles do decide to give the former first-rounder a ring, it sounds like he is more than happy to talk.
