The Los Angeles Lakers will kick off their training camp one week from now, on September 29, meaning Luka Doncic will have to be in LA after spending the summer with his daughters in Slovenia.

The Lakers' superstar guard couldn’t hold his emotions after leaving his daughters back home. Doncic took to his Instagram to share a heartfelt post. He shared a carousel of images featuring his two daughters, Gabriela and Olivia.

“G+O, no matter where in the world your daddy is. No day passes when you wouldn’t be in my heart. Wherever I go, you are always with me. I love you! ❤️ ❤️,” he captioned the post.

After his tumultuous fallout with ex-fiancée Anamarie Goltes, the Slovenian superstar has been prioritizing his daughters. The two former partners reportedly split after difficulties in managing time with their two daughters.

Goltes first filed a petition for child support in a California court earlier this year. In the petition, she asked for child support and fees for the attorney involved in the process.

However, Doncic’s former partner dropped the case earlier last month, citing “resolving this matter amicably and by a mutual agreement which is in the best interests of our children.”

The request was later rejected after the separate location was a concern. Goltes was in Slovenia along with her two daughters while she filed the petition in California.

After the personal issues, Doncic is primarily focusing on the next season with the Lakers. After former franchise cornerstone LeBron James departed for the Philadelphia 76ers, it has now come down to Doncic to lead the pack and set an example.

With the 2026-27 NBA regular season kicking off on October 20, the Lakers will face the Golden State Warriors on October 22.
