The Atlanta Hawks made several additions during the offseason, with one of them being Lu Dort from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Dort had been a key contributor for the Thunder throughout his career and was a big reason for them winning the NBA Finals two seasons ago.

Now, Dort will be looking to have success with the Hawks, and their hope is that he can bring that championship experience to a young team. Dort was asked at Media Day how the Thunder teams he played on compared to the Hawks.

“Number one, we’re professionals. We’re kind of a new team, so it’s going to take time for us to get used to one another,” Dort said. “The talent and the potential are there and I see it. We got a lot of guys that can do a little bit of everything. Guys that can guard, attack, shoot. That's what you need on a team, and from there you just attack every day to get where you want to go. But the potential is there, and obviously I believe in this team, and I see that we can go in the postseason and do a lot of great things this season.”

If there's anybody who knows what it takes to win at the highest level, it's Dort. The Hawks were able to taste a bit of the playoffs last season, but were knocked out of the first round against the eventual NBA champion New York Knicks. They're ready to take things to the next level, and adding a player like Dort can make that happen.

Outside of Dort's experience, he's an All-NBA defender and can knock down 3-pointers at a consistent rate. That fits perfectly into what the Hawks want from their players, and he should fit in nicely with the team.
