On Sunday afternoon, the Detroit Lions hit the field at home for a game against the Minnesota Vikings. The game marked an opportunity for the Lions to pick up a second straight win and also to hand their NFC North rivals their first loss of the season.

Unfortunately, the Lions got some tough injury news in the first quarter of this game regarding a key offensive weapon.

“(Amon-Ra) St. Brown is headed to the locker room,” reported NFL insider Tim Twentyman of the Lions on X, formerly Twitter.

The news came after a replay review took away an apparent touchdown from St. Brown, ruling that he did not have complete control of the football inbounds. Meanwhile, on the play, he hit the ground hard on his head, and the injury he was being evaluated for was revealed to be a concussion, per the FOX broadcast.

St. Brown has established himself as one of the elite wide receivers in the NFL, playing a key role in the Lions' offensive attack over the years, and the team will certainly hope that he ends up being cleared and is able to return to the game later on.

The Lions ended up cashing in with a field goal to take an early 3-0 lead against the Vikings despite the reversed touchdown from St. Brown.

In any case, following the game against Minnesota, the Lions will next hit the field next Sunday on the road vs the lowly Miami Dolphins. Kickoff for that game is set for 1:00 pm ET.
