The NFL Week 2 slate got underway on Sunday afternoon, and one of the high-profile sports personalities to weigh in on the action was Philadelphia 76ers star LeBron James. James was widely criticized for his recently announced partnership with online prediction market Polymarket, but that didn't stop him from collecting another check on Sunday before that day's games.

A community note on James' post pointed out that “X policy requires official Paid Partnership label, not just caption text.”

Among James' picks for the day were the Washington Commanders upsetting the Dallas Cowboys, the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the Indianapolis Colts, and the Los Angeles Rams defeating the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.

James is reportedly making $15 million per year from his new partnership with Polymarket, per Front Office Sports, with the partnership coming amind increased scrutiny about NBA players and the league itself getting into bed with gambling and prediction platforms, including Giannis Antetokounmpo's ownership stake in Kalshi, among others.

It remains to be seen if the community note will cause James to alter the post or affect how much he continues to post Polymarket content, although it's more likely that his bosses at the company were the ones who orchestrated the tweet.

Meanwhile, James is hoping for a good first season with the 76ers after joining them this offseason following his departure from the Los Angeles Lakers. James proved that he still has plenty left in the tank with his performance during the playoffs this past season, and now joins a 76ers team that also added Jaylen Brown this summer.

The 76ers are set to kick off their new season in exactly one month.
