The Baltimore Ravens absorbed a massive pregame blow in losing wide receiver Zay Flowers. Quarterback Lamar Jackson already didn't have Ja'Kobi Lane to throw to either amid his own NFL Injury. So the New Orleans Saints took advantage, beating the Ravens 24-17 on Sunday.

But Jackson's interception painted a way-too-familiar scene for the two-time Most Valuable Player.

“A bad loss that felt all too familiar in these parts, and you can't put this one on John Harbaugh and the old coaching staff either,” posted Ravens reporter for WNST Luke Jones on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.

Jackson stood in the pocket while facing a four-man rush with 20 seconds left. He simply lobbed the football deep to wide receiver Rashod Bateman in hopes of keeping the drive alive. Except Jackson overthrew his intended target and created the takeaway.

Jackson finished 21-of-31 passing for 235 yards with one touchdown pass, but also the interception. Jackson and Baltimore even watched a large fourth quarter lead evaporate as the Saints outscored the Ravens 15-0 in the fourth. He reflected on the defeat with reporters and dropped honesty.

“You should just don't go out there wasting times at the wrong times. I believe in having a good finish,” Jackson said. “You've got to take it.”

But again, the Jackson miscue stretched continuous heartbreaks for Baltimore. Even in the post Harbaugh-verse. Harbaugh's Ravens teams ended their losses with that one costly mistake. Fans of the Ravens likely remember kicker Tyler Loop missing the 44-yard field goal with the AFC North title on the line against the Pittsburgh Steelers. That became the end of the Harbaugh era after that 26-24 loss.
