The Green Bay Packers suddenly look like a team in crisis. Green Bay got throttled by Atlanta on Thursday Night Football in a game that had fans booing in Lambeau Field. Not every Packers player responded gracefully after such an embarrassing defeat.
NFL Network's Kyle Brandt went off on Packers tight end Tucker Kraft for criticizing the fans after Thursday's huge loss.
“The players are also not used to this including Tucker Kraft, tight end. A guy who I like, a player who I like, and a player who almost always says the right thing,” Brandt said on Friday via Good Morning Football. “But when you have times you've never been through before you start ad-libbing and Tucker Kraft afterwards, after maybe the worst Packers home game in years, decided to address the fans.”
Kraft expressed disappointment in the fans for booing during a locker room interview after the game. He did not believe the boos helped the Packers as they attempted to come back against the Falcons.
But Brandt argued that Kraft is completely misunderstand the dynamic between fans and players.
“Good guy, good player, but just a horrible take,” Brandt continued. “It's very simple. You come up, the microphone goes in front of you, and you say ‘yeah they were right to boo, we were terrible tonight. I would have booed too.' And then that's it. What you don't do is say how disappointed you are in the fans. It's not the fans' fault that you guys couldn't block anyone. It's not the fans' fault that you guys couldn't tackle anyone.”
Brandt compared the fans to the bosses of a company, with the Packers being the company itself. He declared that fans have every right to boo when the product on the field is awful to watch.
Now Matt LaFleur look like he's on the hot seat with Green Bay crumbling early in the season. The Packers need to regroup and focus on getting a win in their next outing.
