The Ole Miss football schedule isn't getting any easier. A week after beating Lane Kiffin and LSU at home, the fourth-ranked Rebels travel to The Swamp to take on the No. 21 Florida Gators. While the SEC meat grinder does Ole Miss no favors, Kirk Herbstreit says the Rebs will be fine if quarterback Trinidad Chambliss keeps playing like he is playing.

“T go into The Swamp and win today, it’s going to take [Trinidad Chambliss’s] leadership and his playmaking ability,” Herbstreit said on ESPN's College Gameday. “I think it's consensus through three, four weeks of college football that Trinidad Chambliss isn't just executing well. He has that winner mentality, kind of that ‘it factor,' that really separates him.”

Chambliss will need that winner mentality on Saturday, as he must keep pace with a Florida offense that is second in the nation in scoring with a staggering 54.0 points per game right now.

The good news for Ole Miss football fans is that while the LSU game tested the Rebels, the Gators have not yet faced quite the same level of competition. They did play Auburn to a 44-39 win last week, but the (Auburn) Tigers are not up to the (LSU) Tigers' level. Florida's first two games were against Florida Atlantic and Campbell.

This game is not only a chance for Chambliss to lead his team to another victory on the road to the College Football Playoffs, but a chance for the QB to continue to improve his 2027 NFL Draft stock. Right now, he is in the mix to be one of the top signal-callers off the board, along with names like Arch Manning, Darian Mensah, Drew Mestemaker, and Dante Moore.
