The Packers are facing new franchise woes and off until October 4 after a 35-14 thrashing at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons that exposed serious issues. Boos rained down causing controversy to dog star tight end Tucker Kraft.
Following the Packers' rough outing, Up & Adams host Kay Adams took to the airwaves to share her defense of the embattled Green Bay head coach.
“It is not all on Matt LaFleur. We're not getting rid of Matt LaFleur…This is not Jordan Love regressing. Are there certain things he can do better? Sure,” Adams said, calling the Packers' offense one-dimensional and suffering from offensive play problems and system problems.
“Everybody looks awful, and it does not look resilient. The problem with this team right now is there is not depth, and that is not on Matt LaFleur,” Adams added, referencing missing two missing offensive linemen and starting running back Josh Jacobs.
LaFleur is considered to be on the hot seat after his team's 1-2 start, made to feel even more like a pressure cooker because of the extreme competitiveness of the Bears, Vikings, and Lions in the NFC North. The Packers still have plenty of time to right the ship, and LaFleur's isn't ready to back down.
Green Bay isn't playing with a full deck of cards right now, and injuries are a big part of the problem. Adams, for her part, called her own take “not even a good take” and “obvious,” indicating that she believes Packers fans are blind to the truth of the situation.
October 4 will give fans another chance to root on their team, something that could pay off more often as Green Bay gets healthier.
